What We Believe
Christian faith is more than a set of ideas we agree with, it is a way of life centered on Jesus Christ.
Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture, grounded in the historic Christian faith, and lived out together
as we seek to love God, love our neighbors, and follow Jesus in everyday life.
God
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created all things and continues to sustain and redeem His creation. God is holy and loving, rich in mercy and grace, and desires a restored relationship with every person. We were created to know God, love Him, and participate in His purposes for the world.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, the Son of God who came to reveal the Father and reconcile us to God. Through His life, death on the cross, and bodily resurrection, Jesus has defeated sin and death and opened the way to new life. Jesus is Lord, reigns over all creation, and will come again to make all things new.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God present and active among us. The Spirit draws us toward God, gives us new life, assures us of God's grace, and continues transforming us into the likeness of Jesus. The Holy Spirit lives within and empowers believers, giving gifts to God's people so that we can serve others and participate in God's mission.
Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the primary authority for what we believe and how we live. Through Scripture, we encounter the story of God's saving work, learn the way of Jesus, and are equipped to live faithfully. We read Scripture prayerfully, within the community of the Church and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, trusting God to speak through His Word.
Humanity & Sin
We believe every person is created in the image of God, possesses sacred worth, and is deeply loved by God. Yet sin has broken our relationship with God, one another, ourselves, and creation, and we cannot restore that relationship through our own efforts. We all stand in need of the grace, forgiveness, and restoration God offers through Jesus Christ.
Salvation
We believe salvation is God's gift of grace, made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and received through faith. God's grace is offered freely to all, inviting us to repent, trust in Christ, receive forgiveness, and begin a new life with God. Salvation is more than being forgiven—it is the beginning of a restored life in which God's grace continues transforming us into the people He created us to be.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ—a community of people called together by God to worship, grow as disciples, and participate in His mission. Through worship, Christian community, baptism, Holy Communion, service, and witness, the Church embodies the good news of Jesus and shares His love with the world. Every follower of Jesus has a place and a part to play in the life and mission of the Church.
Resurrection & New Creation
We believe the resurrection of Jesus is the beginning of God's promised renewal of all things. Jesus will come again, the dead will be raised, evil and death will finally be defeated, and God's creation will be fully restored. We live in hope of the day when God will make all things new, even as we participate in His renewing work in the world today.
Grace Changes Everything
At the heart of our Wesleyan faith is a simple conviction: God's grace is at work in us long before we recognize it, meets us when we turn toward Him, and continues transforming us throughout our lives.
Grace isn't simply something God gives us when we first believe. It is God's loving presence and power at work—seeking us, saving us, shaping us, and making us more like Jesus.
Prevenient Grace: God Seeks Us
Before we ever take a step toward God, God is already moving toward us.
Prevenient grace is God's grace at work in every person's life, awakening us to our need for Him and giving us the freedom to respond to His invitation. We don't find God because we searched hard enough; we discover that God has been seeking us all along.
Justifying Grace: God Saves Us
When we turn toward God in repentance and faith, we are forgiven and reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ.
We cannot earn this new relationship with God. It is a gift made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and received by faith. Through God's justifying grace, our sins are forgiven, we are made new, and we begin a restored life with God.
Sanctifying Grace: God Transforms Us
God's grace doesn't stop when we first believe.
Through the Holy Spirit, God continues working within us to heal what sin has broken and form us into the likeness of Jesus. As we learn to love God and our neighbors more fully, our lives increasingly reflect the character of Christ.
We believe God's desire is not simply to forgive us, but to make us holy—to fill our hearts with love for God and others and empower us to live that love in everyday life.
What This Means for Us
What we believe isn't meant to stay on a page. It shapes the way we live.
Because of God's grace, we seek to become people who love God with our whole lives and love our neighbors as ourselves. We gather in worship, grow through Scripture and prayer, share life with one another, serve our neighbors, and carry the hope of Jesus into the places where we live, work, learn, and play.
We don't expect anyone to have everything figured out before they join us. We are all learning what it means to follow Jesus, trusting that the same grace that seeks us and saves us will continue shaping us into people who love as Jesus loves.
